First foray back in the workforce

Recently I threw my hat into the ring for a job at the local high school as assistant volleyball coach. I know the girls' current head coach, and I'd like to think we get along pretty well. As an added perk, we already know we can work together in higher stress situations without making it harder on the other person.

I obviously know next to nothing about Volleyball, but I have coached multiple teams over the course of my life, though it has been a while, and it was in soccer. I wrote up my resume and contacted four people asking them to be references. Between my volunteer work with the Army, my graphic design work for the local theatre and businesses around the country and my dearest and truest friend, I was lucky to have all four agree. It is reassuring when to know I didn't have to beg, grovel or lie about it. 

I am very nervous though as it is my first foray back into the workforce in over a decade (besides my graphic art design and authoring of books). I did meet some of the girls, and I do believe I could be an asset to the school, so I am very hopeful as well. 

Anyways, that's my update. I know I promised to do better at this blogging thing, but I don't ever think I will.
