This year has been exciting, stressful and, yet ultimately, amazing so far. My family and I moved to Colorado where I found my muse and began to write the book that has been in my heart and on my mind since I was a teenager. I fell in love with the story of Lilith, a strong, independent woman who was forced from the Garden of Eden and I began to wonder about her life... what she might be like... and so I wrote "Ascend" which follows the story of her children, Xavier and Arya, as they discover her secret and a world she's kept hidden from them, for their own protection. Their father is the last person they'd ever expect and their entire world is "flip-turnt" upside down. When I was finished writing it, I sent it to my army of women, including an editor, to be as critical as possible but when they also loved my book, I knew I had to take the leap and publish.
So this year, my dream has come true... whether I sell ten novels or a thousand, I am successful because I faced my greatest fear and published my brain-baby... releasing it from the safety of my computer and into the wide world for it to find a fit in someone else's heart. I hope, maybe, yours. Please stay tuned for more information or visit me on Twitter or Facebook (Contact section) and I will be posting links to buy Ascend as soon as they are available! Have a wonderful day!

Very few people in the world today take the leap you just did because fear holds them hostage. How wonderful it is for you personally for overcoming your fears and taking the leap. More so than that, however, is how wonderful it is for all of us that you were willing to share this captivating story that transcends typical YA fiction/fantasy by being revolutionary in allowing each character to be true to themselves and so inclusive. It is something our youth needs to be exposed to more and this was the perfect way to show that one can have inclusive stories without shoving any beliefs down your throat but by allowing us to see glimpses of characters who are just people, not necessarily good or bad, and even in a world with vampires and werewolves and gods and goddesses and angels and witches, humanity is what draws us in. Powerful storytelling, just riveting all around and I've grown quite fond of the characters, particularly some of the side characters who had such wonderful backstories that I found myself wanting more from their perspective. Arya and Xavy are turning into complex characters and have so many different directions they may end up going in and I love the format of your book. How each chapter includes things from each of them and how you can be telling their story while also telling the stories of each person they meet. Discrutpive, instructive and expressive speech forms were used throughout your story which gave it a nice flow, like it was so natural because that is how people talk. You've done what very few writers have been able to do. .. you took your characters and made your audience feel like they were real people; you made us care about what happens to them. I am inspired by you and am anxious to see how the series plays out. You have made a beautiful world and I am so excited to purchase this for my child. She has not gotten to read a story where she will find characters that she can relate to, this is literally the first book. For her , an avid and gifted reader, this will do loads for her self esteem. It will open her eyes more to others who may struggle too. I am honored you chose me to be one in your army of women who got the opportunity to be one of the first to read Ascend. I've watched the work you put into your baby and your passion for writing is one hell of a natural talent and that is what will set you apart. There is no half assed writing in this book. It is fierce and well thought out and so many things tie together that when I've gone back to read I'm like well shoot there were breadcrumbs I missed. The story happened so organically nothing felt forced.
