I survived another year...

I turned 35 a week ago. On the same day, I received the physical copy of my fourth book and was cast in the Cripple Creek Christmas show along with my youngest daughter so I suppose you could say that my thirty-sixth year on the planet is starting fairly well. I also ended thirty-four on a high note, because my soccer team had a winning 7:1:0 season. I am looking forward to March when we do the indoor soccer clinic. 

The rehearsals for the Christmas show started on Monday of this week, so it has barely begun, but I have a feeling it will be a lot of fun, especially since I get to do it with my 7yo (she was cast as Toto in the Wizard of Oz adaption our theatre is doing) and my 15yo, who will be a backstage ninja come showtime. It's going to be exhausting and time consuming, but honestly, there's nothing I'd rather do than have this time doing something I genuinely love with my girls. 

My 4yo is finally starting to talk a little. He's definitely trying to a lot more, but he's naturally quiet and stoic so it isn't easy. We had his IEP meeting and it went better than I had hoped. He will keep receiving what he needs so he can be ready for school... I am grateful we live where we do for him.

The oldest boy is going to try hockey this year, as he doesn't want to do basketball and I like to keep my kids active. I think sports are a great way to learn to cooperate with others, and given we live in a remote mountain community, it's important to give them as many positive experiences as possible. 

I've been hitting the gym consistently. Thank gosh, because the dance is going to be a struggle for me. I will practice as much as I can, but I am definitely nervous about it. As for writing, I have the general idea of what I want Contend to be. I know the mythology I'm focusing on, and the central conflicts to the main characters, but I haven't figured out how to start it the way that feels truly right. I will though. I know inspiration will strike... 

Other than that, I've got therapy later. Still not sure what I'm working on, but I have a feeling it'll be productive either way. Rehearsal later... music and dance night. Gah.
