The Winter Solstice is one of my favorite days of the year. It is an ending that sparks a new beginning. In truth, I feel that New Year's Eve should be this very night. It is the longest night of the year, full of cold winds and stars. And this year, as of this very night, Jupiter and Saturn are merged, forming the Star of Bethlehem for the first time in 800 years (so don't forget to look for it). Tonight I will renew my connection with my spirit in the birth of a new season. After all, every night gets shorter and every day a little longer. Aside from that, I am working on improving my limited marketing skills. I'm not sure if it's working as I'm selling the same number of books and have roughly the same number of reads on Kindle Unlimited. Regardless, I am learning and growing as an indie author. I even made two new book trailers last night. Check them out below! Four days until Christmas. With four kids and a pandemic, I began planning for Christmas in April (it gave me something to do). Now with Christmas only days away, I have wrapping, Christmas baking, and cleaning to do for the holiday, but really all I want to do is write. Speaking of writing, I am thrilled to say I'm 32k words into Book Four: Gravesend, and it really just gets better with every chapter. Every time I doubt myself, my alpha readers encourage me while offering creative criticism that helps. So now I am growing in confidence, even if I still have insecurities rearing their ugly heads from time to time. Other than that, now that all of our close family and friends know, I have regretful news: My husband has cancer. We are so fortunate though because he had a kidney stone which required imaging and so they found the cancer before it could become deadly or impact his health in a significant way. Good news: We have a surgery date set despite COVID! I'm not going to post it just in case it changes, but hopefully by February, he'll be on the road to recovery AND remission. Looking back at this unusually long blog, I see that I have more going on than I thought. Nonetheless, it is time to get some writing for Gravesend done. Don't forget to comment below and let me know which Book Trailer you prefer! Thank you so much! Lots of Love, Leia Marie Gose
